Why are they trying to do this with my beautiful muscle stem cells?

If they could then find a way to make this cheaper to do than actual cattle farming, that would be excellent.  For one, it would put a dampner on rainforest deforestation, where hundreds of acres are burned daily to make room for cattle to graze. (A process which rends the land almost completely infertile shortly after, requiring more deforestation.)

Not to mention the huge leaps in medical care this would mean for people who need replacement tissues.
